Big Day For Masse At Fraser Downs

Published: March 6, 2011 10:53 pm EST

The Sunday afternoon program at Fraser Downs belonged to trainer/driver Serge Masse, who enjoyed a multiple-win day at the office

. Masse sent out three winners from his own outfit and he tacked on a catch-driving victory to bring his overall win total to four.

He went gate-to-wire with the Erik Neyhart-trained Tahuya Crusher (1:56.3) in the opener and he came right back to victory lane in Race 2 thanks to a front-stepping triumph with Im Bossy (1:55.1) – a mare from his own barn. Her stablemates, Red Star Zoro (1:55.1 – Race 3) and Theseyesrcrying (1:54.4), did their part to bring Masse’s UTR for the season to an impressive total of .425.

After watching his numbers (37 wins and purse earnings of $203,645) drop off in 2010 compared to some of the totals he has put together in recent years, Masse has come out of the blocks quickly to begin the 2011 campaign. He has already sent out 15 winners while watching his barn rack up close to $84,000 in the first two months of the year.
