Teenage Paige Repeats In Night Styles

The second leg of the Night Styles Series was contested as part of the Thursday evening program at The Mea

dowlands, with Teenage Paige and Perfect Sport capturing their respective $16,000 divisions.

Brian Sears outdrove his fellow reinsmen in the opening split winning with Perfect Sport in a time of 1:53.4.

The four-year-old Sportsmaster miss strolled on the lead through very sensible fractions of :28.4, :57.4 and 1:26.3 before sprinting home in :27.1 to seal the deal over runner-up Get That Cheese and third-place finisher Mystra.

Joe Anderson conditions the mare for owner Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, QC. It was the second win of the season in five tries for Perfect Sport, who upped her lifetime earnings to $43,946 with the win.

Teenage Paige was a repeat winner in the series thanks to her 1:52.2 victory in the second split for the tandem of driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Eric Ell.

Fresh off a 1:52 score in the opening leg of the series, the four-year-old Real Desire miss rallied from off the pace to remain perfect in the preliminary legs of the event. Sent off as the 7-5 favourite, Teenage Paige defeated Stacked Deck and Temptress El.

Kenneth Wood, William Dittmar Jr. and Stephen Iaquinta of Pennsylvania share ownership on the mare, who has put together a 4-0-0 record in her first five starts of the 2009 campaign. The $8,000 payday lifted her bankroll to $100,829.

The $60,000 (est.) final of the Night Styles is scheduled for next Thursday evening at The Meadowlands.
