Zeron On Accident

Mary Ormsby of The Toronto Star has written a piece on the terrible accident Monday at Woodbine Racetrack. The story includes many candid quotes from Rick Zeron and video of the incident, one of the worst at the track

in years.

"It was a miracle that nobody was killed and that no horses were killed," said Zeron, who was right in the middle of the mess.

"Robert Shepherd was the worst," Zeron said about the young pilot that suffered a broken leg in the spill. "I've never heard anybody scream like that before. ... I can still hear it. I was sick when I looked at his leg."

Video footage of the race was recently posted on YouTube.

Zeron went on to say that he thought it was unbelievable that Mario Baillargeon -- who was steering the horse that caused the chain reaction -- lived through the event.
