The winning streak is now three in a row and counting for Odds On Amethyst, who powered to his second straight score in Woodbine Racetrack’s $34,000 Preferred Trot during Monday’s 10-race card.
Trainer/driver Pat Hudon treated Odds On Amethyst to a second-over trip, and the powerhouse didn’t let it go to waste.
April Rose shot to the top and carved out panels of :27.1, :57 and 1:24.4, but she couldn’t go the distance. Odds On Amethyst swung off cover turning for home and from there he used a :27.4 closing quarter to win by a length over Catch The Dream in 1:53.1. Rounding out the Trifecta ticket was Finish Line.
Hudon shares ownership on the six-year-old son of Muscle Hill-Mystical Sunshine with Bill Cripps, Charles Gazzola and Adam Kean. The partners watched the gelding improve this year’s record to 4-1-1 from 10 starts with the win, while his lifetime earnings climbed well over $300,000.
