Anja prevailed in the co-feature for New York sired trotters on Thursday afternoon at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The Dave Dewhurst-trained daughter of Credit Winner was a winning machine in 2017 when she scored eleven victories - many of which came in the New York Fair Circuit. Anja cruised to her first win of 2018 in Thursday’s $7,500 co-feature as she was the public’s 4-5 betting favourite.
Jimmy Devaux piloted Anja to a third and a second-place finish in her first two tries of the campaign before the four-year-old went coast to coast to prevail in 2:00.2 for career win number 15 in 50 lifetime tries.
Devaux guided another Dewhurst-trained trotter to victory on the matinee card as well as Time Is Fleeting (Lucky Chucky) registered his first career pari-mutuel score in 2:03.3.
The other co-feature was won by Trotamundo and driver Billy Dobson, who piloted three winners on the card.
