Tajma Hall Triumphs In Northlands Main Event

The month of January was a tough one for Tajma Hall, who was kept out of the win column in all four of his starts. The same can’t be said, however, for February.

Earlier this afternoon the accomplished veteran made his way to the winner’s circle for the first time this season – and for the 62nd time in his career – thanks to a 1:54.1 triumph in the $15,000 Open Pace at Northlands Park.

The 11-year-old son of Cambest enjoyed a perfect pocket trip behind Tyber King, who was on the hook for chopping out splits of :27.2, :56.4 and 1:25.1. Tajma Hall found clearance in the lane for trainer/driver J.F. Gagne, who drew off to win in convincing fashion with his stable star.

Wrangler M closed from well off the pace to grab the runner-up award in the six-horse affair while Tyber King weakened late and had to settle for the show award.

Brian Buckley of Calgary and Peter Van Seggelen of De Winton, AB share ownership on the classy campaigner, who now boasts a $764,245 bankroll.
