Fearless Man laid down all the speed in last week’s assignment at Woodbine Racetrack only to wind up second best, but tonight he was treated to a pocket trip and he parlayed it into a sharp score for trainer/driver Rick Zeron.
Its Huw You Know shot to the lead in Monday’s $25,000 feature trot at Woodbine Racetrack, and Zeron quickly plugged Fearless Man into the pocket spot. They held those positions through fractions of :26, :54.4 and 1:24.1. Fearless Man angled off the cones in the lane, and he used a :28.1 closing quarter to win by 2-1/2 lengths over Burnin Money in 1:52.3. Cash For Gold took home the bronze medal.
The seven-year-old son of Elegant Man-Lasting Beauty, who is owned by Rick Zeron Stables, Noblock Racing Stable, Murray Greenfield and Cool Cat Racing Inc, is now 2-for-4 to begin the season. The 30-time winner has racked up purse earnings of $563,001 to date.
