Driver Travis Cullen seized the lead with P L Jackson passing the quarter and held control by every pole to post a 1:57.3 victory in the $13,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday (Feb. 15).

Cheddar Bay charged from post seven to the point around the first turn while Cullen readied to kick for the front with P L Jackson to a :29.2 first quarter. P L Jackson crossed over to control the terms coming towards a :59.2 half, where he endured first-over pressure from Outlawgrabbingears moving to second circuit. Outlawgrabbingears remained at P L Jackson's side to three-quarters in 1:28 but folded around the final turn. With the outer tier stalled, Cheddar Bay became P L Jackson's lone threat in the straightaway. He pulled from the pocket to take aim at P L Jackson late, though the nine-year-old Mach Three stallion held firm to the inside to hit the beam three-quarter lengths better. Alex Having Fun closed up the pylons for third with Homey Joe rallying from last up the inside for fourth.

Owned and trained by Jodie Cullen, P L Jackson won his 26th race from 168 starts, lifting his earnings to $373,153. He paid $13.10 to win.
