According to a report out of Sweden, star driver Robert Bergh will be much lighter in the wallet, as the sport's governing body has handed the reinsman a hefty fine over a 2007

whipping infraction.

An article by The Local states that Bergh has been fined the equivalent of 40 days' wages for using his whip in an excessive manner on one of his mounts, Citera, at the Bergsåker racecourse in northern Sweden.

The report indicates that the court of appeal overturned a district court ruling which had previously cleared Bergh of any wrongdoing.
