Meadows Feature To Fox Valley Smarty

Fox Valley Smarty shot the Lightning Lane — and got a break when the leader jumped it off late — as he captured Monday’s $22,500 Preferred Trot at The Meadows.

Fox Valley Smarty was gaining inside when Run And Tell Pap made a brief break on top. That was all Fox Valley Smarty and Tony Hall needed. They held off the rallying TSM Photo Bugger in 1:54.3 over a “good” surface while the first-over Southwind Pepino finished third.

Mark Goldberg trains the five-year-old Vaporize-Self Confessed gelding, who now boasts $187,335 in career earnings, and owns with Rags to Riches of PA.

Mike Wilder drove three winners on the 15-race card. With one victory on the program, Brett Miller now stands at 5,999 for his career.
