Aided by a second-quarter breather, N Y Yankees rolled to her ninth victory of the year in Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

N Y Yankees and Dave Palone shot to the lead and threw down a :27.2 opening panel. But when Palone worked out a :30.3 second quarter, N Y Yankees breezed home in 1:54.1. The pocket-sitting Tremor Hanover was a length back in second while Do Me Honor rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains the four-year-old daughter of The Panderosa-Pan Yankees, who now boasts $265,983 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Aaron Merriman drove four winners and Palone three on the 15-race card, which closed out The Meadows’ 2012 season. Live racing resumes Wednesday, Jan. 2, first post 12:55 p.m.
