O’Brien Hosts Announced

Standardbred Canada is pleased to announce that Ken Middleton and Jason Portuondo will host the 2008 O’Brien Awards.

Middleton is Woodbine Entertainment’s standardbred announcer and has been a regular anchor at the O’Brien Awards, as this marks the sixth consecutive year that he will co-host this event.

Portuondo is a Toronto native and regular anchor on Sportsnet’s sports news show Sportsnet Connected. He’s also enjoyed stints at Rogers Cable, 680 News, TSN, CBC Kingston, and Woodbine Entertainment before landing at Sportsnet.

Portuondo has been a regular emcee for the Sovereign Awards which he has co-hosted with Hall of Famer Sandy Hawley for the past several years.

The 2008 O’Brien Awards will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel in Mississauga, Ontario.
