On Wednesday (Dec. 13) evening, Dahlquist Hanover set the tempo to take home the win in the featured $11,000 Preferred Trot at Flamboro Downs.
Dahlquist Hanover and Travis Cullen rocketed from the rail to take the early lead. Never looking back, Cullen and the Garry Merner student set panels in :27.3, :57.4 and 1:26.3 before heading home to a 1-1/4-length victory in 1:56.1. Power And Grace (Brett MacDonald) finished second with Sicario (Austin Sorrie) third.
Gino Toscani owns the three-year-old gelded son of Walner and the Cantab Hall mare Dangle Then Deke. Dahlquist Hanover earned his third win in a row and seventh seasonal and career victory. He moved his career earnings to $97,587 and returned $2.70 to win.
