A pair of conditioned trots worth $9,000 apiece served as the co-features for the Tuesday (Dec. 12) evening card at The Raceway at the Western Fair District with Marvin Hagler topping the action in 1:57.4.
Lass Shot (Alfie Carroll) and Marvin Hagler (Brett MacDonald) battled for the front en route to the opening panel in :28.3. Lass Shot took command and set two more panels in :58.4 and 1:28.1 while the Mark MacQuarrie student followed on his helmet. Down the lane, Marvin Hagler overtook the leader to go on to win by one length. Johnny Buckshot (Tyler Borth) completed the top three.
MacQuarrie co-owns the four-year-old Crazed gelding with Mary Pedden. Marvin Hagler earned his 11th win of the season and 16th career victory, with lifetime earnings now totalling $123,775. He paid $2.90 to win.
Raisealittlehill pocketed his $9,000 split to win by two lengths in 1:59.1 with Scott Young holding the lines for Garry Merner. He paid $8.60 to win.
