The second preliminary for the Harvest Series Three-Year-Old Filly Pace went as a single dash on Saturday (Nov. 27) at Woodbine Mohawk Park, with Dave Menary trainee Bet On Becky delivering a repeat victory as the odds-on favourite.

Driver James MacDonald motored Bet On Becky for the front through a :27.1 first quarter and cleared control from Bottomoftheninth moving for the backstretch. Best Keepsake angled first over out of fourth as the tempo slowed to a :57.1 half and progressed to within a length of the pacesetter moving to three-quarters in 1:25.3. Off the corner, Best Keepsake began to tire as Bet On Becky accelerated for home, while Awesome Hill uncorked a furious bid from third over to give the leader a late scare. Bet On Becky held firm to the finish, holding a three-quarter-length advantage at the end of a 1:52.4 mile over Awesome Hill with Bottomfotheninth giving pursuit from third and Chiefs Dream Girl closing for fourth.

A daughter of Bettors Delight, Bet On Becky has won four races from 14 starts this season and eight from 19 overall, earning $280,289 for owners Larry Menary, Kenneth Ewen, Alan Alber and Michael Guerriero. She paid $2.80 to win.
