Artistic Madison cruised wire-to-wire in her Flamboro Downs debut, winning Sunday night's featured $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace for trainer Carmen Auciello.

Jonathan Drury sent the six-year-old daughter of Artistic Fella to the lead from post five and never looked back. Artistic Madison posted panels of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:23.2 en route to the two-length victory in 1:52.3 for owner James Downer of Langley, B.C.

Sent postward as the even-money favourite, the Mohawk regular rebounded from a break in stride in his last start on September 30 and returned $4 to win. Sing Like An Angel followed in the pocket to finish second with trainer/driver Travis Cullen aboard while Buttermilk Hanover and driver Billy Davis Jr. came on to show.

With a 5-5-5 scorecard from 31 starts, Artistic Madison has banked $71,180 this year.

A pair of $8,500 Preferred 3s were won by the Kyle Fellows-trained mare Dixie Lullaby ($3.70), who went from last to first and drew off by nine lengths in 1:54.2 with Scott Coulter aboard, and the Colin Kelly-driven gelding Lets Wait And See ($4.30) in 1:53 for trainer Scott Friend. Lets Wait And See turned back a challenge from First Car and then held off the pocket-pulling Senior Market for his half-length victory.

The Patrick Shepherd stable send out three consecutive winners beginning in the evening's sixth race with Force Seelster ($3.30) and ending with L Dees Luca ($3) -- both driven by Bob McClure. In between, J Harris reined Shepherd's upset winner Larjon Lachlan ($22.30) to victory.
