Lachie Maguire N, the 4-5 favourite, powered to the early lead, sat pocket and popped out in the stretch to take the $18,000 Open Pace in 1:51.4 on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The Jose Godinez trainee yielded the lead to Jk Panache heading to the opening quarter and sat put through a :56.1 opening half. Bruce Aldrich Jr. continued to keep Lachie Maguire N right behind Jk Panache as he passed three-quarters in 1:23.3 but then pulled the favourite into the stretch, surpassing the leader at the wire to win. Deetzy finished third.
The son of Bettor's Delight returned $17.60 to win.
Live racing continues on Sunday, Oct. 7 at Saratoga with a matinee starting at 12:15 p.m.
