The Week 23 results from the 2017 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll are in, and Hannelore Hanover, who is fresh off a victory against male rivals in the Breeders Crown Open Trot, has moved up in the standings.
Hannelore Hanover, a five-year-old daughter of Swan For All, captured the $526,250 Breeders Crown Open Trot to kick off last Saturday night’s ‘Crown’ finals at Hoosier Park. She has now won nine of her 16 seasonal starts and has banked over $1 million this year. She has jumped from fourth to second in the poll, and is now just 15 points behind the Ariana G, who sits atop the poll yet again.
Ariana G continued her dominance last weekend during the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Filly Trot, as the daughter of Muscle Hill was a dominant five and a quarter-length winner in 1:54.3 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Jimmy Takter.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll is voted on by harness racing media representatives that cover North American Standardbred racing.
The rankings are based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year. The Dan Patch Awards are separate from the O'Brien Awards, which recognize Canada's top Standardbreds of a given racing season.
