Lying In Cash reached the milestone of five consecutive race wins and four consecutive Open wins by capturing the $10,800 Open Pace at Northville Downs Saturday (Oct. 29) evening in 1:57.2.

Driver Jason Merriman and Lying In Cash left fast off the car to take the lead before the quarter pole from fellow pacesetter Big Bang Boom. Merriman and his charge put up all the numbers in the mile and held off a late surge from Big Bang Boom down the lane to hang on to win by a half length.

Lying In Cash is conditioned by owner-trainer Techia Lohmann. It was the 27th victory for the six-year-old Aracache Hanover gelding whose earnings are now $179,354 in his career.

Driver Kody Massey led all drivers on the night with four wins; Justin Irvine had three; Jason Merriman Kim Pluta and Marc St. Louis Jr. each had two.

Northville Downs live racing resumes Friday (Nov. 4) at 7:30 p.m. (EDT). Friday night is the ever-popular dollar night featuring $1 pop, popcorn, live racing programs and $2 hot dogs. Northville Downs races every Friday and Saturday night from now through Dec. 17.
