The Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association (NSHRIA) has reported that it is currently working on a three-year business plan and strategic plan to present to government for consideration for the 2024/2025 racing season.

This plan includes collaboration with track representatives, stake shareholders, matinee and youth development and breeder development.

An update from the association states that, "The industry board is working together for the betterment of our industry for our tracks, owners, breeders, matinee and youth programs within our industry."

The NSHRIA noted that current infrastructure upgrades ongoing at the province's three racetracks are positive investments to the industry, including Truro Raceway's renovated grandstand slated to be fully operational in 2024, upgrades to Inverness Raceway to the Forensic barn, upgraded lighting and the recent installation of a new toteboard at Northside Downs.

"We are working on supports for our breeders and are pleased to have been able to announce the Foal Incentive program, and we will be announcing a broodmare purchase opportunity in the coming weeks. Funding was available to help tracks with promotions, and increases in purse for the Phil Pinkney Stakes and Atlantic Sires Stakes in 2023 have all been well received. We are currently working on our strategic plan for the next three years and are hopeful we will be able to continue to support and expand on these accomplishments. We look forward to sharing our plan with our members once finalized."
