Get Thereovernight pulled off the upset victory in the $12,500 Open Pace at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino on Sunday as he defeated Ghost Pine, making it a 1-2 finish for the Kelly Hoerdt stable.

Ghost Pine, the 9-5 second favourite in the short field of five, was the race leader through fractions of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:25.3 for Hoerdt while 7-1 shot Get Thereovernight started out from the back of the pack before Bill Tainsh Jr. sent him first over down the backstretch. Get Thereovernight reeled in his stablemate and forged ahead as the wire approached to prevail by half a length in 1:53.2. Gotta Bad Attitude, the 21-1 longest shot on the board, followed four lengths behind and edged out 6-5 favourite First Class Horse for third. Who Doesnt completed the field over 10 lengths behind.

Get Thereovernight earned his second Open win from three starts this month and came within two-fifths of a second of his lifetime mark for Hoerdt and co-owners Peter Giannakopoulos of Edmonton and Blair Corbeil of Beaumont, Alta.

The four-year-old son of Clintons Cigar returned $17.70, $4.20 and $2.90 across the board.

In other racing action, the Travis Cullen-trained 10-year-old pacer Raging Fingers ($2.40) extended his win streak to eight in a row with a 1:55 score in the $15,000-$20,000 Claiming Handicap.
