Pylon starter Good Friday Three grabbed the lead and refused to let go to win the $2,500 Winners-Over Pace at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 16).
Driver Dale Spence hustled Good Friday Three for the lead to open 3-1/4 lengths on pocket-sitter Privilege to a :28 first quarter. Spence then settled the 10-year-old Mach Three gelding to a :56.3 half and 1:25 three-quarters with the field starting to stack behind. Good Friday Three kept them all to his back coming for home to cross the finish with a length advantage while stopping the clock in 1:55. Well Did swept by the competition to snag second with Harry G slipping up the inside for third.
Trained by Donald Ellis for owner Debbie Ellis, Good Friday Three won his 31st race from 177 starts and has now earned $130,708. He paid $8.90 to win.
