Truro Raceway will have one final race card to close out its 2023 season, which will be on Sunday, Oct. 29, with a 1 p.m. Atlantic post time.

The card will be highlighted by the richest race to be contested in Nova Scotia this season, the first ever Inglis Jewellers Diamond Classic $50,000 race for two-year-old pacing fillies. The race will move back one week from its originally scheduled date of Sunday, Nov. 5.

The slot holders for the Inglis Jewellers Diamond Classic have the right to use their slot in the race or make a deal to sell or trade their slot to someone else, right up to the entry box closing. The current slot holders at present are:

  • Done for the Day Stable – Angus Blaise Gillis
  • Hard Core Racing
  • Dr. Ian Moore
  • Clare MacDonald
  • Nikway Farms
  • Mike Pollard
  • Gene Smallman
  • Peter Smith

The card will also feature the Carl and Marg MacKenzie Memorial Stakes, with divisions for three-year-old colts and fillies, as well as the Pinkney Nova Scotia Stakes with three divisions, for two-year-old colt pacers, two-year-old trotters and three-year-old trotters.

There will also be regular overnight races on the card, as fans get their final chance of 2023 to see their favourite horses in action at the Bible Hill, N.S. oval.
