After a few weeks absent from the winner's circle, Dontblvmejustwatch made an emphatic return when turning away all challengers to deliver as the 7-5 favourite in the $1,600 Winners-Over Pace at Northside Downs on Monday afternoon (Oct. 10).

The five-year-old Hes Watching gelding protected the point from the pylon post and kept Red Rum She Wrote to the outside with pocket-sitter Gentry Seelster sealing the hole to a :27.4 first quarter. Red Rum She Wrote hung to dry but remained a thorn in the side of Dontblvmejustwatch as he cruised to a :57.2 half and through three-quarters in 1:27.1. As Red Rum She Wrote retreated, Dontblvmejustwatch then faced a blitz from Gentry Seelster for home and kept that rival at bay by a half length to stop the clock in 1:57.4. Johnnie Jack finished third and Runaway Mystery took fourth.

Driver Randy Getto co-owns Dontblvmejustwatch, a trainee for Dana Getto, with Wayne Hardy and Susan MacSween. He won his 13th race from 70 starts and has now banked $87,343. He paid $4.70 to win.

Monday's card also featured two $1,250 eliminations for the Celtic Financial Series. Elm Grove Ocean rallied from off the speed in the first to land a head blow on pocket-popper The Ironman in 2:02.2 with Articulate Barb third and Farmers Fieldstone folding from a long battle with Blacky Black for fourth. Angus Gillis trains the five-year-old Stonebridge Terror mare for owner Done For The Day Stable. She added a 16th victory to her 64-race card while pushing her bankroll to $39,712 and paying $3.20 to win. John Beaton sat in the bike.

Trainer-driver Richie Baryluk put his rivals to sleep with a 2:00.2 front-stepping clinic behind Senior K in the other elimination. The nine-year-old Bettors Delight gelding grabbed the lead to a :29.2 first quarter and strolled under minor first-over pressure from Dellas Playboy through middle fractions of :59.3 and 1:30.1. He then spurted clear of that rival to post a four-length score and collect his 28th win from 146 starts. Howmac Impeccable finished third and Ten Mile Beach took fourth. Senior K, a winner of $215,444, races for owner Danny Ferguson and paid $3.50 to win.
