Lil Kim got off to a winning start in her 2010 campaign last weekend at Fraser Downs and tonight she kept her record perfect with a move into the Fillies & Mares Open class

.

With David McKellar in the bike, the seven-year-old mare by Lil Steven out of Denali Dot Com rewarded her backers in the $13,000 feature as part of the second choice entry trained by Robert Merschback and owned by Robert Murphy.

Lil Kim and B Bar Marilyn (Timothy Brown) sprinted out to a four length advantage in the early going, but it was B Bar Marilyn who won the speed duel on the inside as Lil Kim retreated and settled for a pocket ride at the first quarter in :27.

B Bar Marilyn took a :30-second breather while Incredible Beauty (Keith Clark), a part of the favoured entry, moved first up from fifth providing longshot Adorable Killean (David Hudon) with cover.

As the field passed three-quarters in 1:25.2, Lil Kim pulled the pocket and made a dash for the wire. She turned in a :28.3 final frame to prevail by two lengths in 1:54 flat while Adorable Killean and Incredible Beauty finished second and third respectively.

Now two-for-two this year, Lil Kim has banked $11,450. Her 21st career win pushed her total bankroll to $248,251.
