Pointe Of Honour, who has not competed pari-mutuelly since August 19, 2009, was putting in his second consecutive qualifying effort this morning during the weekly

qualifying session at Mohawk Racetrack.

With Paul MacDonell at the controls for trainer Paula Wellwood, Pointe Of Honour left from Post 3 in Race 2 and was much the best for the duration of the mile.

The 2008 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final winner clicked off the fractions in :30, 1:00.3 and 1:31 before coming home with a :29.4 final panel. The win time was 2:00.4 and the margin of victory was two and a quarter lengths for the four-year-old Striking Sahbra horse.

The track was rated 'fast' for the duration of the nine-race docket, but a one-second allowance in time was given.

The fastest trotting mile of the morning was recorded by Rose Run Hooligan. Driven by Simon Allard for trainer Rene Allard, the seven-year-old Corleone horse went wire-to-wire from Post 9 and posted a one and three-quarter length victory in 1:57.

The fastest pacing mile of the morning was recorded by Cat Four. Driven by Mark MacDonald for trainer Dave Menary, the six-year-old Camotion gelding assumed control of the lead along the backstretch and won going away by six and a quarter lengths in 1:55.2.
