Saturday Georgian Traffic Issues

Officials with Georgian Downs have informed Trot Insider that it has only carded eight races for its program of racing this Saturday (June 25) due to major construction in the area.

Georgian has said that the McKay Road bridge over Highway 400 is to be torn down, and thus the highway will be closed to traffic beginning at 11 p.m.

All Hwy 400 traffic is being routed, including semi trucks, down the Fifth Side Road.

Georgian officials have said that the track will be running eight races to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to leave safely, quickly, and can beat the traffic.

Georgian is urging everyone to be careful leaving the track.

The Saturday program will kick off with a first-race post time of 7:15 p.m. and will feature a $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2, which has been carded as Race 4.
