February Stakes Payments Due

Multiple stakes nominations, payments and deadlines are coming in the next few days, so Trot Insider has collected all of the notifications that have been sent out from within the industry to try to help keep everyone in the loop.


STANDARDBRED CANADA’S FEBRUARY 15 STAKES PAYMENT NOTICE

Standardbred Canada would like to remind owners and trainers that stakes payments are due February 15.

A generic stakes form can be used to submit payments by mail. It can be located by clicking here.

Horsemen paying the Atlantic Sires Stakes sustaining payment must also pay the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association membership fee of $50 per-owner per-year. If you have not already paid this fee in 2016, please remit it with your February 15 stakes payments.

If not paying by Interac (debit) or with a credit card via SC Stakes Online, please mail and make cheques payable to:

If paying by cheque or money order, envelopes must be clearly post-marked on or before Monday, February 15 to be accepted, despite inadequacies of the postal system.

ONTARIO SIRES STAKES PAYMENTS DUE FEBRUARY 16

Owners of Ontario Sires Stakes eligible three-year-olds are reminded that February 15 is the deadline for the three-year-old OSS sustaining payment of $700. However, since the 15th falls on the Family Day holiday this year, payments postmarked by Tuesday, February 16 will be accepted. For more information, click here.


WOODBINE PAYMENTS / NOMINATIONS DUE FEBRUARY 16

The month of February has arrived and the deadline to make nomination payments to major Woodbine Entertainment Group stakes events is approaching. For more information, click here.


NOMINATIONS FOR ‘BATTLE’ RACES DUE FEBRUARY 16

Nominations for Grand River Raceway’s major races must be locked in by February 16. For more information, click here.


HAMBO SOCIETY PAYMENTS DUE FEBRUARY 16

The initial payment deadline for eligibility to more than 128 stakes events at 14 different tracks, headlined by the $1 million Hambletonian at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday, August 6 and the $5.8 million Breeders Crown events at the Meadowlands in October, is fast approaching. MEADOWLANDS STAKES NOMS DUE FEBRUARY 17

Officials with the Meadowlands Racetrack have released a notice to horsepeople that provides details regarding stakes nomination payments that are due on February 17. For more information, click here.


YONKERS STAKES NOMINATIONS DUE

Yonkers Raceway is offering a friendly reminder that they’re closing in on closing dates for various events. For more information, click here.


ADIOS, MATURITY PAYMENTS DUE FEBRUARY 15

The Meadows would like to remind trainers and owners that payments for the 50th Delvin Miller Adios ‘Pace for the Orchids’ and the Meadows Maturity trots for four-year-olds and up are due by February 15. For more information, click here.


DELAWARE STAKES PAYMENTS DUE

Sustaining payments for the sophomore classics Little Brown Jug (three-year-old colt pace), Jugette (three-year-old filly pace), Old Oaken Bucket (three-year-old open trot) and the Buckette (three-year-old filly trot) are due February 16. For more information, click here.


MULTIPLE NJ PAYMENTS DUE FEBRUARY 16

The deadline for the New Jersey Sire Stakes, Green Acres and Standardbred Development Fund’s first sustaining payments is rapidly approaching. Because February 15 falls on Presidents’ Day this year, the deadline for mailing purposes will be February 16. For more information, click here.


TIOGA RELEASES DETAILS ON LATE CLOSERS

Officials with Tioga Downs have announced that the track has revamped its 2016 late-closing program to make opportunities available for three-year-olds to race in conjunction with the New York Sire Stakes schedule, as there will be a quartet of $25,000 (estimated) finals scattered through the moths of May and June. HAWTHORNE'S 2016 STAKES SCHEDULE SET

The 2016 Illinois conceived and foaled stakes schedule has been announced by Hawthorne Race Course and the Illinois Harness Horsemen’s Association. For more information, click here.


CARDINAL, VIOLET STAKES NOMINATIONS DUE

Hawthorne Race Course, the Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association and the Illinois Department of Agriculture would like remind horsemen that nominating payments for the 2016 Cardinal and Violet Stakes, to be contested at Hawthorne Race Course, are due to the Illinois Department of Agriculture by Monday, Feb. 15.
