Sunday’s Nova Scotia Stake Set To Go
A five-horse field of three-year-old pacing fillies has been drawn to contest the $10,000 Nova Scotia Stake, which will head postward this Sunday (June 28) at Inverness Raceway in Nova Scotia.
Standardbred Canada and the Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association are co-sponsors of this leg of the Nova Scotia Series. For complete series details and conditions, click here.
The contest has been carded as Race 7 on the 12-dash program. First-race post time for Sunday’s card will be 1:30 p.m.
There is quite the logjam on the morning line, as Electric Stena lass Thebigbamtheory has been assessed as the early favourite at odds of 5-2. The Ernest Laffin-trained and driven filly has won three of her nine career races. Two of those wins have come this year. Her only loss this season came earlier this month when she broke stride early and missed the board. Thebigbamtheory will start from Post 2.
Winless in five starts this year, Pictonian Stardust (PP4, Mike Stevenson) has been selected as the 3-1 second morning line choice. The Western Paradise miss is still a maiden after 13 career races.
Pictonian Bun Bun (PP1, Marc Campbell, 7-2), Sunlight (PP5, Kenny Arsenault, 4-1) and Sendithome Della (PP3, Danny Romo, 6-1) round out the field.
