Kandor Hanover Sweeps Celias Counsel

Kandor Hanover turned in another thoroughly dominant effort on Monday night to capture the $47,200 Celias Counsel Trotting Series Final

for three-year-old fillies at Woodbine Racetrack, giving her a sweep of the series.

The daughter of Tagliabue - Katelyns Glory left from post one for the second straight week and, once again, driver Randy Waples used a patient approach in the early going. The pair got away in fifth spot through a :27.3 first panel that was put up by Igual Que Tu.

Kandor Hanover wasted no time in making a move to the outside in the second quarter and cleared not long after the half in 1:29.1. The had built up a 3-3/4 length lead by the time the field turned for home and then continued to widen her margin in the stretch, eventually winning by nine lengths in 1:58.

Paidmedorayme won the battle for the place spot with Arbor Pompom Girl finishing third.

Trainer John Burns co-owns the filly along with the Online Stable of Mississauga, Ontario and Patrick Huber of Lima, Ohio. It was the fourth win in 13 career starts and the winner’s share of the purse boosted her earnings to just over $64,000.

Kandor Hanover is eligible to many of this summer’s most lucrative events for three-year-old filly trotters, including the $600,000 Elegantimage in June at Mohawk Racetrack.
