Continuing his stay in the southern hemisphere, Canada's Jody Jamieson made a special guest appearance along with a few of the other World Driving Championship participants at Cranbourne on Thursday.

Jamieson picked up a handful of drives along with Denmark's World Driving Championship representative Knud Mønster and his daughter Michelle. Australia's Chris Alford was also active with a number of drives of the card. In Race 4, Jamieson was able to guide favoured Surreal Dream to victory. With three drives on the card, Jamieson also finished third and fourth.

Jamieson and Mønster will next travel to Tabcorp Park Melton for Saturday's Pryde’s Easifeed Great Southern Star night card. Jamieson has a drive in the $400,000 event with Vincennes, who he drove in the first leg of the WDC at Menangle, finishing third.

The Great Southern Star is a heat race. There are two eliminations in the first heat with each carrying a purse of $50,000. The top three horses in each heat qualify for the $300,000 Final, conducted later on the card. The final will race with a field of 10 horses, the top three from each heat plus the four fastest horses from the heats that didn't didn't finish in the top three.

Favoured in this year's Great Southern Star are Keystone Del and Stent, the 1-2 finishers in last year's event.

In a special international invitational trotting race, Jamieson and Mønster will reacquaint themselves with WDC rivals Alford and Dexter Dunn plus downunder driving aces Anthony Butt and Kerryn Manning.
