Glazer: Nebupanezzar Staying In Ontario

Bob Glazer, owner of Nebupanezzar, has gone on the record as saying that his star No Pan Intended gelding will bypass the $1 million Meadowlands Pace to focus on lucrative stakes engagements in Canada

.

"I have to look at the big picture," Glazer was quoted as saying in an article by The Star-Ledger. "I have to consider his entire career. He can make a million dollars without leaving Ontario. You have to pick your spots. It's a matter of managing a horse."

Glazer stresses in the article that Nebupanezzar is a gelding, therefore with no prospect of stud duty in his future the bay can afford to miss some of the sport's biggest events, such as the Meadowlands Pace.

"The Meadowlands Pace conflicts with races in Canada, and I felt it's silly to not race in them. There are $100,000 finals for those series in Canada," Glazer said. "That's something I've had to consider because he's a gelding and I never had to do that with any others I've had."

Glazer has kept Nebupanezzar eligible to the Little Brown Jug and the Pepsi North America Cup. He also said in the article that he may take the gelding on the road later in the year.
