Dayton Raceway Meet, Draw Information

The inaugural meet at Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway commences this Friday night (October 3) at the regular 6:35 p.m. first-race post time.

The first draw for opening night will take place Monday afternoon (September 29) with the box closing at 2 p.m. Trainers are advised to call entries in from noon to 2 p.m. at 937-235-7860 or enter by using the USTA's Online Entry platform.

The regular draw schedule at Hollywood Dayton Raceway will be Monday for Friday, Wednesday for Saturday, Thursday for Monday (once Monday racing begins October 20), Friday for Wednesday, and Saturday for Thursday. The race office will open at noon on every live race day (also the draw days) and will close the entry box at 2 p.m. The race office will be closed every Sunday and Tuesday when there will be no live racing and no draws.

"Horsemen just need to remember that we have a draw on each live race day and that call-in entries should be made between noon and 2 p.m., or put in anytime online," said the track’s race secretary, Gregg Keidel.

"While this schedule does mean the draw varies between three and five days prior to a race program, it allows our staff two days of rest during our hectic five-nights-a-week live racing meet. It also allows our simulcast partners throughout North America plenty of time to print and distribute programs for our races, which we are hopeful will feature full fields of highly-competitive horses driven by a host of talented drivers who plan to make Hollywood Dayton their home base."

A ‘dress rehearsal’ of 11 qualifying races will take place Monday, September 29 with a special 7 p.m. first-race post time. Drivers and trainers are reminded that colours will be required at all times, including warm-ups and qualifiers, while on the track.
