Dressed To The Nines

The horses at Truro Raceway wore their best attire to celebrate Father's Day on Sunday afternoon.

Styled by caretaker Heather Gatti, David Floyd Carey trainees Fluid Motion (sired by Camotion) and Lady McCardle (sired by McArdle) were adorned in suits and ties to the delight of harness racing fans as they toured the Truro oval in pre-race warm ups.

"I had fun doing this and I was hoping the fans would get a kick out of it," Gatti told Trot Insider. "I dressed the horses up for Mother's Day and had so much fun I wanted to do it for Father's Day.

"I bought two suits and and opened up the pant and jacket so they could 'wear' them. I do a lot of sewing so it came easy to me. I have always thought outside the box! I hope to do more things like this to get the fans excited about coming to the races."

Fluid Motion is pictured below in the classic navy blue suit while Lady McCardle is sporting the stylish grey ensemble.

In racing action, Grayland Farms' Oakmont and trainer/driver Danny Romo held off the pocket-pulling Lucky Taryn and Darren Crowe for a repeat win in the afternoon's top class. The I Am A Fool gelding prevailed by a neck in 1:59.2 over the 'good' track rated one second off.
