'Arwa' Tops Third Harrisburg Session

The 2013 Standardbred Horse Sales Company Annual Sale continued on Wednesday at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg with Arwa Hanover topping the third yearling session.

Selling as Hip 564, Arwa Hanover was purchased for $110,000 by New York's Jeffrey Gural. Consigned by Hanover Shoe Farms, the Andover Hall-Always A Starlet filly is a half-sister to Reynolds Stakes winner Astarsborn Hanover ($92,516 - 1:54.1).

Soulshout, Hip 570, was purchased for $105,000 from the Millstream Farm consignment by New York's Octavia Rappoport. The Conway Hall colt is out of Angelholm Hanover, a half-sister to $500,000 earner Anamosa Hanover. Soulshout is a half-brother to Angeldrive ($191,724 - 1:55).

Triumphant Session, Hip 716, also topped the $100,000 mark, selling to Courant Ab of Stockholm, Sweden. Consigned by agent Peninulsa Farm, the Sjs Caviar-Ens Tag Session colt is a brother to stakes winners Triumphant Caviar ($811,547 - 1:51.4) and Prayer Session ($543,701 - 1:53.2).

A total of 782 yearlings have been sold through the first three sessions for $31,129,000, producing an average price of $39,807.

The Select Yearling Sale continues on Thursday at 10 a.m. featuring Hips 835 through 1116. The Mixed Sale will be held on Friday and Saturday.
