Peck On The World In Harness

In the most recent edition of The World In Harness, HTA's Stan Bergstein talks to Greg Peck, the trainer of freshman trotting phenom Muscle Hill.

In the 34-minute interview, Peck talks about his Fortune 500 corporation, Media Training Inc., his family background in harness racing and his successes with Muscle Hill and Palone Ranger.

"I looked at [Muscle Hill] on video and really, really thought he was something else," Peck said in the interview. "I couldn't have predicted that he is what he is now because they just don't come along like that. I knew he was good but you can never say well he's going to be the best one. Its impossible to predict.

"The only way it would have been better training him is if I had owned him, but you know I've read a lot about timing in life and things happen at a certain time and that's probably the way it was supposed to be. But you know I do have the confidence that down the road another one will come along. It might not be as good as him obviously but something will come along that I own."

Peck also revealed Muscle Hill's plans for 2009.

"I think what we'll do is take the Donato Hanover, the Deweycheatumnhowe program to the Hambletonian. We will stay at the Meadowlands."

Hi Greg; It,s been a long time. I just wanted to thank you and your dad for allowing me my first experience with horses, i still remember Peguois Warrior, Con Peter, Sandy Frisco and Flippant. Finally learned how to drive ,not bad at riding either, remember Dr. Steinway, he earned me the name Super John. LMAO.Fun times in C.B., building new barn in spring, i will go on my own. I found out , no one is to be trusted in this game and that,s ok, at least had a 1;54 horse, not a lot of guys can say that. Take care and thanks again, my love affair with horses will be for life.
