Hoosier Park Adjusts Racing Schedule

A blanket finish at Harrah's Hoosier Park

In consideration of the safety and well-being of the equine athletes, horsemen and women, and patrons, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is making adjustments to its racing schedule for the upcoming week.

Due to forecasted excessive heat, racing on Thursday, Aug. 24 will be cancelled and post times on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday will be moved to 7 p.m.

With the priority of ensuring the health and safety of all involved, Harrah’s Hoosier Park believes that rescheduling races during cooler evening hours is the best course of action. This decision comes in response to the anticipated extreme weather conditions, with the welfare of the horses and the racing community at the forefront of concerns.

Thursday’s Indiana Sires Stake event will now be carded as part of Friday’s racing program.

Additionally, there will be 14 races carded on Saturday as opposed to 12.

Hoosier Park will be implementing its standard precautionary heat related measures throughout the week.

Hoosier Park remains committed to providing a high-quality racing experience while prioritizing the well-being of both participants and spectators. Hoosier appreciates the understanding and cooperation of everyone involved during this schedule adjustment.
