Sherman Takes GLADA Trot

Harness Racing at Northfield Park

Don Sherman knows when he has the best horse in the race the front is the place to be. And that's exactly where Sherman put odds-on favourite Dynamic Edge in the $7,500 GLADA Trot Sunday night (May 8) at Northfield Park as the veteran trotter cruised to a 4-1/2 length win in 1:56.1.

When the starter turned the field loose, Dynamic Edge zipped the lead as Steve Oldford took a seat in the two-hole with Pepin Coolie and they were one-two by the quarter in :28.3. The order remained the same by the half in :58.4 and the leaders were still one-two as they trotted by the three-quarters in 1:27.4. But when they rounded the final turn and headed for home, Sherman's charge began to pull away and Dynamic Edge cruised to an easy 4-1/2 length triumph. Pepin Coolie finished second and So Wishful and driver Larry Ferrari took home the show dough.

Dynamic Edge, a nine-year-old Muscle Mass gelding, is owned and trained by Jessica Roegner. He paid just $2.40 for the win.
