Bad Rusty Takes Open; Wolfenden Wins Six

Rodney Long’s Bad Rusty earned his eighth win of the season when he stormed to a 1:52.4 score in the $22,000 Open Pace at Harrington Raceway

Bad Rusty, who is trained by Joe Hundertpfund, Jr., mounted a first-over attack for driver Ross Wolfenden, and they eventually wore down pacesetter Southwind Lynx en route to posting a two-length win over Sniper Hall and Harlingen Hanover.

Bad Rusty, a five-year-old Badlands Hanover gelding, won for the eighth time this season. He has banked close to $120,000.

The victory with Bad Rusty was one of six trips to victory lane on the card for driver Ross Wolfenden. The sulky sitter is on pace for his first driving title at Harrington as he currently leads Tony Morgan in the standings 177 to 158.
