Hot Collectibles On eBay.ca To Support Chase

Do you want a copy of Crazy Good: The True Story of Dan Patch, the Most Famous Horse in America? How about one with 11 autographs and a pair of Somebeachsomewhere's shoes?

The items are now listed on ebay.ca, and the auction for the items will be open until Wednesday, July 9 at 8:56 p.m.

All proceeds from the auction will be going towards the Chase McEachern Foundation, which provides assistance in the purchase, training and community awareness of portable defibrillators in high risk community locations.

When Chris Bourassa -- who is the one behind the initiative -- went to Mohawk Racetrack on June 14 to watch Somebeachsomewhere in the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, he bought a copy of 'Crazy Good' from author Charles Leerhsen, who also signed the book.

Bourassa, assistant trainer in the Jack Darling Stable, then got the book autographed by all ten drivers participating in the 'Cup.'

To boot, Bourassa got Somebeachsomewhere's trainer, Brent MacGrath, to donate a pair of the colt's shoes to the cause. Bourassa is in the process of getting a letter of authenticity from MacGrath for the shoes.

"There was such a buzz at the track that night," Bourassa told Trot Insider this afternoon. "I was able to get the autographs and the shoes -- I just know people are going to love these items.

"I decided on [the money raised going toward] the Chase McEachern Foundation because I really got familiar with the cause through Randy Waples. The idea of horsemen and racing fans being able to give money to save lives is about as pure as any cause can be."
