Louis Albert Welsh Passes

Longtime Standardbred owner Louis Albert Welsh of Windsor, Ont. passed away on Friday, Nov. 19 at the age of 96.

Lou was a World War II veteran and served overseas in England and the Netherlands. He worked for Greyhound as a bus driver for 43 years and also served as the local ATU 1415 President. Lou was an avid Spitfire fan and longtime season ticket holder as well as a lifelong Maple Leafs fan. He owned several racehorses who raced throughout Ontario, Michigan and Ohio.

Predeceased by his wife Helen (nee Bruce), parents Ross and Marie Welsh, brother Fred Welsh (the late Donna), daughter in law Norma Jean Welsh and brother in law Don Sheehan.

Cherished father to Shirley Masse (Dan), Ross Welsh (Sherri), Trish Welsh and Mike Welsh (Heather). Proud grandfather to Chris, Jay, Shawn, Ryan, Andrew, Paul, Jenna, Taylor and great-grandfather of five. Brother to Louise Sheehan.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
