Garden State Trot At Freehold Friday

Freehold Raceway will be hosting an appetizing 10-race card this Friday (Oct. 25), featuring the Garden State Trot for three-year-old fillies.

The card will also feature a double Pick 5 carryover.

The Garden State Trot has attracted a field of six. The tilt has been carded as Race 3, which carries a listed post time of 1:10 p.m. (EDT).

Golden Tricks, who is trained by Ake Svanstedt, appears to be the most likely winner. She won the Hudson at Yonkers Raceway earlier this year and finished second in the Bluegrass at the Red Mile three starts back. She was well-supported in her Breeders Crown elimination last week, and was sent off at odds of 4-1. However, she was parked for most of the mile and ended up seventh. She drew Post 4 for Friday and will be driven by Andy Miller.

Sexy Wow, who races for trainer Nick Surick, will also be looking to rebound off of a disappointing race. She was the solid second choice in last week's NJSS-SDF Final for three-year-old trotters, but finished a tiring third and was passed in the late stages by Karen Garland's Marveloustrix. Sexy Wow drew Post 2 and will start with Marveloustrix directly to her outside.

Starita, Princess Deo, and Taja Mahala round out the field.

The Pick 5 will begin in Race 5 (the 50-cent minimum bet currently sports a double carryover pool of $1,525.76). All five races in the sequence feature full fields of eight. The co-headliners are two non-winners of $3,500 last five races: one for filly and mare pacers, and one for trotters. The fifth race will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The first race at Freehold on Friday is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
