OSAS Welcomes Reverend Hanover

The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society is pleased to welcome Reverend Hanover into its program. One of the most talented Ontario-sired performers in the past few seasons, the son of Sportswriter retired two years ago with more than $550,000 banked.

As a two-year-old, under trainer Casie Coleman’s watch, the Reverend was undefeated in four starts which included two Ontario Sires Stakes Gold events and the OSS Super Final. He was a double Super Final champion having also won the year end contest as a sophomore.

Owned throughout his career by Coleman’s West Wins Stable, Steve Calhoun and Anthony Beaton, Reverend Hanover ended his career with a summary of 10-4-2 in 27 trips behind the gate. His life record of 1:48.3s was taken as a three-year-old at Mohawk. The seven-year-old gelding last raced in December of 2017.

OSAS’s Joanne Colville picked up Reverend Hanover yesterday. “I’m told he’s a nice, quiet horse. We’ll do an assessment and determine how to go forward with him. Given his outstanding career, he would be a great Meet & Greet horse or used for our Drive With Us program. We’re very pleased to welcome him.”
