Willyorwonthe ($6.00) took full advantage of a pocket trip behind Absolut Seelster en route to a 1:58.4 win in Wednesday's (Feb. 27) featured $11,500 Preferred 2 Handicap Trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

After leaving from post 6 in tandem with Absolut Seelster (Scott Young), who left from her assigned post 7, Willyorwonthe secured an easy pocket and drafted unabated through early splits of :28.2 and :59.1 before being locked in by the first-over On The Ridge (Garrett Rooney) on the backstretch. Absolut Seelster was forced to a :29.2 third quarter by mild pressure from On The Ridge, and Ryan Holliday remained patient with Willyorwonthe before room availed in upper stretch.

Once clear off the home turn, Willyorwonthe found another gear and surged to a 2-1/2 length win, his fourth in six starts this year. Absolut Seelster held second as the 6-5 favourite, while Lets Leavem (Colin Kelly) was a ground-saving third.

Octogenarian Bill Megens bred, owns and trains the six-year-old Angus Hall gelding who earned his 26th career win.

In the sub-featured $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot, Mighty Nicky ($3.50) vaulted off cover for a 2:00.1 win, holding Yoooukilis at bay by 1-1/2 lengths. Alfie Carroll drove the six-year-old Deweycheatumnhowe gelding for Richard Moreau.
