Ted Wing Appreciation Night Friday

Jeff and Paula Gural’s Allerage Farms and the SBOANJ will be hosting the Ted Wing Appreciation Night this coming Friday (August 3) at the Meadowlands Racetrack to celebrate his nomination to the Harness Racing Hall of Fame.

Wing’s record-setting career, which began in his home state of Maine, has spanned five decades. He was the youngest driver, at the age of 26 in 1975, to reach 1,000 wins and second youngest to 3,000. He was the top driver in New England from 1970 - 1975, as he enjoyed an unprecedented run of titles at Foxboro and Rockingham. He was then sought out by race secretary Joe DeFrank to race at the Meadowlands when it opened in 1976. In 1978, he won the Meadowlands driving title and made history as the only driver to simultaneously take top honours at the Meadowlands, Roosevelt and Yonkers.

The cocktail party will be held in the Meadowlands Skyboxes on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
