Courtly Choice To Supplement To Pace

Trot Insider has learned the connections of Courtly Choice will ante up some serious dough to supplement their speedy sophomore to this year’s Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace.

Trainer Blake MacIntosh watched Courtly Choice crush the foes he faced last weekend in the $75,000 Max C. Hempt Memorial Consolation at Pocono Downs, and he’s hopeful the speedster can carry that momentum into this Saturday’s Meadowlands Pace elimination round.

“When Lather Up was out I called the ownership group (Daniel Plouffe, Joe Thomson, Joe Intine and Steve Heimbecker) to see if they were interested in supplementing and they all wanted to do it right away,” said MacIntosh. “I talked to my assistant trainer Jessica Dowse this morning, and she said he was great.”

Courtly Choice, who is stabled at Mark Ford’s Training Centre, has endured some tough luck in the elimination round to some of this year’s major events. MacIntosh is hopeful that can change this time around.

“We feel he has a good of shot as any in there and he deserves a make up for the Pepsi North America Cup where he hooked wheels and finished fifth,” added MacIntosh. “I would like to thank my partners for this opportunity and the support.”

The deadline to declare to this year’s Meadowlands Pace is Tuesday, July 3 at 9 a.m.
