‘Month Of The Horse’ Celebration In NJ

New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher along with state and local officials will celebrate the Month of the Horse this Friday (June 8) by visiting Fair Winds Farm in Cream Ridge, NJ.

New Jersey Governor Philip Murphy signed a proclamation declaring June the Month of the Horse in the state. The horse is the official State Animal.

Fair Winds Farm is a 600-acre equine boarding and breeding facility. Located in Upper Freehold Township, the farm maintains a broodmare band of some 40 trotting and pacing mares. Fair Winds sells its yearlings primarily at the NJ Classic and the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pa. Fair Winds also provides reproduction and boarding services for mares and their offspring and features the on-site Hogan Equine Clinic.

Secretary Fisher and other dignitaries will tour Fair Winds Farm, view a demonstration (weather permitting) by the Harness Youth Foundation and tour the Hogan Equine Clinic.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m. at Fair Winds, which is located at 74 Red Valley Rd, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514.
