Surrealist Scores Again At Northside

On the front, first over, sitting pocket...no matter the trip, war horse Surrealist continues to find ways to win as evidenced by his 66th lifetime victory Saturday at Northside Downs.

Racing once again in the $1,200 Winners Over class, driver Ryan Campbell nestled Surrealist in the pocket behind the streaking Euchred (Mark Pezzarello). Making his fourth start in 11 days, Euchred looked as fresh as ever through panels of :28.3, :58.2 and 1:28 before showing some weakness late. Campbell was poised and pounced heading for home, pulling pocket and powering past for the two-length plus score in 1:57.4. Euchred stayed for second with Dreamfair Van Dam (Gerard Kennedy) four lengths back of the leader in the show spot.

Surrealist (Modern Art - Keeping Secrets) now boasts a bankroll of more than $286,000 for owner-trainer Dana Getto of New Waterford, N.S. The 11-year-old pacer is showing no signs of slowing down with a 12-6-2 summary from 22 seasonal starts.
