Trotting stallion Il Sogno Dream has received his fair share of attention recently both inside and outside of harness racing circles.

The son of Cantab Hall - Le Reve enjoyed a solid first year as a stallion at Mac Lilley Farms in Dutton, Ont. The farm reports that Il Sogno Dream's book is full and closed for 2017.

With a full book, the six-year-old horse has returned to his racing career and is quickly approaching millionaire status for owners Bill & Dan Manes and Leonard & Randy Christopher. He'll attempt to add to his $973,000 bankroll on Friday night in the $34,000 Preferred Trot at Mohawk Racetrack. He has the outermost starting spot, Post 10 for trainer Vic Puddy and driver Trevor Henry.

On Sunday, May 14, Il Sogno Dream and Alex Lilley had the honour of taking the first of 250 commemorative miles in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing in Canada. The historic mile was part of the Mother’s Day Open House at Mac Lilley Farms in Dutton, Ontario. That same day, Il Sogno Dream was part of a feature by agriculture advocate Andrew Campbell. Campbell is behind the popular social media channel Fresh Air Farmer, and he's profiling 52 different farms in the 52 weeks of 2017. For week 21, he stopped at Mac Lilley Farms for an interview with Alex & Jeff Lilley.
