Xtreme Series Conditions


Conditions for the Xtreme Sprint

The rules of racing of the Ontario Racing Commission in effect at the time the race is contested shall govern this race and any and all entries to the race with be received only with the understanding and on the agreement of the subscriber that the rules of racing govern and that the following conditions apply:

Eligible

Pacers four years old and up:
• Must have started in an $8,000 or less claiming event at a racetrack in Ontario after August 31, 2010.
• There are no nomination or starting fees for the series.
• Horses must be declared at the time of entry box closing for each respective host track for each leg.
• No claiming is permitted in any series’ events
• The host track for a series leg reserves the right to cancel the event if the minimum number of entrants is not obtained.
• Maximum field size is the full tier of the starting gate car.
• No trailers will start in any of the Xtreme Sprint events.
• The top nine (9) point earners from all legs will race in the Championship.
• Starters in the championship must have made at least two starts in qualifying legs.
• In the event of a tie for points, the entry will be selected by random draw.
• Series races will range from 3/8 mile to 5/8 mile depending on the host track.
• Post positions for all events will be drawn by the Standardbred Canada Electronic Draw.
• The Xtreme Sprint Championship will be raced at a distance of 5/8 mile.
• The purse for the Xtreme Championship will be $20,000**

Points will be awarded as follows:
1 – 50
2 - 25
3 - 12
4 - 8
5 - 5
6 and beyond - 4


Conditions for the Xtreme Enduro

The rules of racing of the Ontario Racing Commission in effect at the time the race is contested shall govern this race and any and all entries to the race with be received only with the understanding and on the agreement of the subscriber that the rules of racing govern and that the following conditions apply:

Eligible

Trotters, four years old and up; Must have started in an $8,000 or less claiming event at a racetrack in Ontario after August 31, 2010.

• There are no nomination or starting fees for the series.
• Horses must be declared at the time of entry box closing for each respective host track for each leg.
• No claiming is permitted in any series’ events
• Starters in the championship must have made at least two starts in qualifying legs.*
• The host track for a series leg reserves the right to cancel the event if the minimum number of entrants is not obtained.
• Maximum number of starters – two full tiers of the starting gate
• Minimum number of starters – 12
• The top 18 point earners from the legs will race in the Championship.
• Starters in the championship must have made at least two starts in a qualifying leg.
• In the event of a tie in points, the entry will be selected by random draw.
• Xtreme Enduro events will be raced at a minimum of one mile and a quarter and a maximum of one mile and seven-eights.
• Post positions for all events will be drawn by the Standardbred Canada Electronic Draw.
• The purse for the Championship will be $20,000
• A Hitching fee of $200 will be paid to starters who do not finish in the top five positions in each series division and in the Championship.

• *In the event that there are not enough starters who raced in two qualifying legs to make up a full Championship field, the top additional point earners from one qualifying leg can complete the balance of the field.
